Aries is the first sign and corresponds with
the head, certainly one of the most important parts of your
body because it contains the brain, the centre of intelligence,
and the organs of hearing, seeing, smelling and tasting. In
addition, the nose allows for the inhaling and exhaling of
life-giving air and the mouth provides for the intake of food
to sustain the body.
It is interesting to note that Mars is the ruler of Aries
and one of the functions of this planet is to "cut",
so it is not surprising that we were given teeth in our heads.
Everyone born from March 21 to April 20 has the Sun in Aries
and this frequently emphasizes things associated with the
head - such as a cut or scar somewhere on the face or scalp,
headaches, insomnia, giddiness or problems with the eyes,
ears or teeth. Many Aries women have endless trouble with
their hairstyle. One or more of these characteristics is much
more pronounced in people who were born at the particular
hour when Aries was on the ascendant - regardless of the actual
month of birth. The shape and appearance of the head can be
modified in an almost infinite number of ways by the presence
of one or more of the 10 spheres comprising the Sun, Moon
and the eight planets. This depends on the date of birth,
because some planets return to Aries for a short period each
year while others such as Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune
and Pluto are only in this sign approximately every 12, 29,
84, 165 and 248 years, respectively. When Venus is in Aries
at the time of birth, it adds a certain softness to the features
and expression and often it can indicate that the person happens
to be very good looking.
Mars is more masculine than feminine in nature, so when this
planet is in Aries it usually makes the features harder, sharper
and more rugged. Because Mars has a connection with sharp
objects, heat and fire, the combination of Mars in Aries almost
always indicates a scar somewhere on the head, face or scalp.
Jupiter is the planet of largesse and happiness, so when in
Aries it indicates a fairly large, well-developed head and
an expression which is happy and smiling.
Saturn's nature can be serious, sombre, austere or gloomy,
so when in Aries it often gives an expression reflecting these
qualities and, as well, the bones of the face usually are
quite prominent.
When the Moon is in Aries the complexion often is pale and
the face is rounded, rather than sharp or angular. People
who were born when several planets were in Aries are naturally
affected by combinations of influences and all manner of variations
in their effects are possible.
