Heart
line |
|
The heart line normally begins near the Mount
of Jupiter or the Mount of Saturn, traverses the palm under
the Mounts of Apollo and Mercury and ends on the outer edge
of the hand, beneath the little finger. The heart line not
only reveals the strength or weakness of the physical heart
-- it shows the character and nature of the affections as
well.
In rare cases the heart line is absent, indicating a person
who at times can be cold, heartless and selfish, particularly
if the hands and fingers are thin and pale.
The heart line's starting point tells you a great deal about
a person's attitude to love. In the diagram on left the line
begins on the Mount of Jupiter, indicating a person to whom
true love is all important. He or she has the capacity to
adore a loved one and is very demonstrative in expressing
feelings, emotions and affections. A person with this type
of heart line is likely to marry someone very ambitious for
their partner's own success.

|
|
|
In this case the
heart line begins on the Mount of Saturn. This person
does not wear his heart on his sleeve, is reserved or
even inhibited about expressing feelings and emotions
and is certainly not all that demonstrative in matters
of love.

|
|
|
|
|
In this case the
heart line begins between the Mounts of Jupiter and
Saturn, indicating a person whose attitude to love is
neither of the two previous extremes but is one of moderation.
The affections are strong but he is sensible and unlikely
to be foolishly carried away by his feelings, emotions
and sentiments.
|
|
|
If the heart line begins with a fork
comprising two or even three prongs, the person's heart
is likely to rule his head unless the head line is strong
and straight.
If the heart line begins close to or joins the head
line, you can be certain that head will rule heart.
Don't forget to compare the heart lines on both hands
to see if life's circumstances have had a marked effect
on the inherited qualities of love and affection. After
all, a child can be very loving but a terribly unhappy
marriage may destroy that natural love and tragically
that same child, now an adult, can become a bitter,
cynical, lonely person.
|
|
|
|
Naturally, the
length of the heart line measures the amount of love
in a person's heart.
In the diagram on left, the Line A heart line is too
long so this person will be guided by sentiment and
feelings in almost everything, rather than by reason
and commonsense. He also will be unhappy unless able
both to give and receive a lot of love.
The Line B heart line is very short, showing a lack
of affection.
|
|
|
|
|
|
As shown in the
diagram on left, the heart line can be deflected in
varying degrees down toward the head line. The length
and depth of this dip reveals the time and intensity
of a period when the mind and reason were used to control
emotions and love nature. This is often an unhappy time.

|
|
|
|
|
As already mentioned,
the heart line normally ends on the side of the hand.
However, you sometimes will see some remarkable variations
such as those shown in the diagram on left. Invariably,
they indicate abnormalities affecting either the physical
heart or the emotional nature.
